For women, the glamour and femininity associated with Louis Vuitton find expression in sophisticated cat’s-eye shapes, notably an oversize design combining an acetate frame in fuchsia, violet, petrol blue or brown with a distinctive curved corner detail and arms in metal. Another cat’s-eye style has slender temples sheathed in Monogram canvas, complemented in the dark tortoise version by stunning mirrored lenses. This design also boasts innovative rotating hinges, enabling it to be folded completely flat – perfect for summer’s oh-so-stylish but non-too-spacious clutches! Retro shapes emerge as a key trend of Spring/Summer 2014. Louis Vuitton updates a simple, classic design in dark tortoise or pearl glitter acetate, embellishing it with a delicate row of metal Monogram flowers, which are set by hand into the temples. Finally, the season’s edgiest look is offered by a bold, angular frame in two- tone acetate, anchored by broad tortoise temples.

Sunglasses for him

For men, two vintage-inspired shapes are given a modern twist by a graphic play on the historic Damier signature: alternate metal and acetate cubes are assembled one by one to create a 3D effect on the temples. A third style, in beige, navy or eye-popping cyan blue, sports an engraved Damier pattern and flash mirrored lenses. Combining style with comfort, all three designs feature flex hinges and ultra-lightweight acetate frames.

Louis Vuitton Summer 2014 Collection

Summer 2014 at Louis Vuitton is a festival of perfect pastels and sweet sorbet shades recalling Slim Aarons’ seductive images of the international jet set in the Sixties and Seventies. Quietly and coolly sophisticated, this is a collection that will stand out on the beach by day and, come the evening, by the pool for cocktails.

For an afternoon by the sea, the season’s essential tote comes in natural linen and cotton canvas with pastel leather trim, or else in Damier Azur. Both versions are printed with the heritage Articles de Voyage signature, and the natural canvas tote is lined with Summer 2014’s tropical flower print.

Sized up or down, in coral, pale yellow or both, this pattern also covers a cotton pareo, a silk square, a beach towel and, naturally, the glamorous zip-front swimsuit or bandeau bikini in which Louis Vuitton’s sophisticate takes her place in the sun.

As cocktail hour approaches, she slips out of her relaxed beach cover-up or crisp cotton shorts into something a little more formal – a fluid viscose floral-print dress, perhaps, or a baby-doll style as blue as the cloudless sky. She swaps her espadrilles for a pair of high-heeled wedges, but keeps the laid-back spirit of denim printed with the Articles de Voyage motif.

For evening, Louis Vuitton’s classic Epi leather in sunset shades of lilac, yellow, pink and coral dresses the neat Louise bag with its tone-on-tone LV initials clasp. Slung across the body on its slender strap, the Louise is casual and carefree. With the strap removed, it transforms into a chic clutch. Matched with strappy flat or wedge- heeled sandals in coral or pale yellow calfskin, the iconic Neverfull in Epi leather epitomizes the mood of easy, breezy elegance that infuses this Summer 2014 collection.

Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Riviera

The refreshing Damier Azur canvas is back this season in the form of a gorgeous summer bag. The Riviera in Damier Azur travels with laid-back elegance from brunch to shopping to cocktails by the pool. Its the spirit of summer, captured in a beautifully crafted handbag.

Riviera’s coated canvas body in the summery Damier Azur features natural cowhide accents such as the gorgeous intricately braided handles (for hand-carry), piping, borders and removable strap (for shoulder or cross-body carry). First released in 2010, the Keepall in Damier Carbone is Louis Vuitton’s first foray into the innovative carbon fiber material. This year, the Damier Carbone Keepall is perfected with the addition of a bigger size, and functional new details. It also coincides with the release of Louis Vuitton’s BMW i8 Luggage Set which is made from the same carbon fiber material.

The Damier Carbone is a remarkable material that is made of carbon fiber coated canvas. This gives the final material high tensile strength, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, low thermal expansion and very light weight… it’s 35% lighter than its Monogram/Damier canvas counterpart. With its lightness and resistance to the elements, the Damier Carbone Keepall Bandoulière is the ideal accessory to hard-core travelers. A handsome bag for rugged environments.

Unlike the 2010 version, this year’s Damier Carbone Keepall features a removable and adjustable woven fabric shoulder strap with patch which makes the bag easier to carry and gives the traveler more carry options. Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2014 City Bags Ad Campaign Featuring Michelle Williams

Following her highly successful debut as the face of Louis Vuitton, actress Michelle Williams is back this spring in a second advertising campaign spotlighting three key city bags: the new Lockit, the Capucines, and the iconic Alma.

Photographed once again by Peter Lindbergh, whose sensitive portraits embodied the spirit of the first campaign, Michelle Williams is here revealed in a new light, bringing her special acting talents to bear as she projects three different facets of femininity in a series of visuals styled by Carine Roitfeld.

For the Lockit, Louis Vuitton’s contemporary reinterpretation of its classic 1950s design, Michelle Williams is the essence of the stylish, self-confident Parisienne. Her nonchalant poses reflect the understated elegance of the new day bag in supple Veau Cachemire leather, which is featured in chic pastel shades. For the Alma, the actress is in playful spirits, showcasing the bag’s eye-popping colors of Epi leather as she perches on a pile of trunks. The ladylike Capucines, meanwhile, is ideally complemented by a more restrained, sophisticated mood.

From the compelling combination of force and fragility of the first campaign, to the vibrant contrasts of this second outing, Michelle Williams – as she has done so many times on screen – makes her own her latest role as the multi-faceted Louis Vuitton woman.

First rising to prominence in Ang Lee’s Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain (2005), Michelle Williams went on to give critically acclaimed performances in films such as Synecdoche, New York (2008), Shutter Island (2010), and My Blue Valentine (2010). In 2011, her performance as Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn earned her a Golden Globe and her third Oscar nomination.
